Keys to access a building or any building services, including fire alarm control unit and elevator control, must be provided as required by El Segundo Fire Department regulation.

The El Segundo Fire Department utilizes Knox Box Rapid Entry System to ensure consistent standards for the installation and maintenance of Fire Department key boxes as required by the California Fire Code Section 506, Key Boxes.  The code ensures where access gates are placed across fire apparatus access roadways an override key switch will be provided to provide ESFD access.
